It's the time NFL front offices and coaches fear most. The month leading up to training camp is a time when players have the most free time of the year, and inevitably, some players just can't stay out of trouble.
According to various reports, Bucs rookie offensive guard Dominique Robertson was reportedly shot, hospitalized, and released from a California hospital on Friday night. Shortly after, Robertson was detained by police.
“We just basically know that he was obviously a victim of a shooting and they came and they took him directly out of the hospital,” Robertson's attorney Zulu Ali said.
The Buccaneers also released a statement on the incident:
"We are aware of the reports concerning Dominique Robertson. We can confirm that he has been released from the hospital and is at home resting. We are in the process of gathering more information, but our primary concern is Dominique's health and well-being."
Robertson was an undrafted free agent signed by the Bucs following the conclusion of the 2016 NFL Draft. Robertson's status for training camp is unclear at this time.
