Play Golf For Local Children's Charities

September 23 – A berth in the NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf awaits the winners of the 18th Annual NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 24, at Avila Country Club. A limited number of entries are still available for the event in which foursomes are teamed up with former NFL stars.

Tampa's Avila Course will host the Annual NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic on Monday, Sept. 24.

In addition to the tournament, the entry package includes the breakfast, lunch and an awards banquet at Avila on Monday. Entry fees are $400 per individual. A Super Bowl Partner sponsorship package, which includes eight playing spots, plus advertising and promotional benefits, is available for $5,000.

Among the NFL alumni committed to play in the event are James Jones, Paul Kitzinger, Tom Redmond, Barry Smith, Earl Morrell, Tim Marcum, John Kaleo, John Holt, Hassan Jones, John Reger, Jeff Winans, Rob Taylor, Bob Hewko, Tim Van Galder and Bill Cappleman.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers great Lee Roy Selmon is the Hall of Fame Celebrity Chairman. John Barbee, president of Razor Golf is the honorary chairman and former St. Louis Cardinals lineman Tom Redmond is the tournament's working chairman.

NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classics are one-day 18-hole scramble events held in some 30 cities to raise funds for local and national charities. Proceeds from the Suncoast Chapter's event go to local children's charities.

The five golfers on the winning team, including the NFL alum, will represent the Suncoast Chapter in the NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf XXII at Amelia Island Plantation, near Jacksonville, all expenses paid. Cash prizes of $1,000 and $500 will be awarded to second and third place finishers.
