After dropping a gift interception in the first quarter, Tampa Bay linebacker Shelton Quarles got the Bucs on the scoreboard with a huge interception rturn for a touchdown. Quarles is named this week's Buccaneer Magazine Pewter Player of the Game.
With 14:41 left in the second quarter, Quarles raced 98 yards on an interception to post the longest scoring play in Tampa Bay's history. Quarles' interception is also the longest interception return in Bucs history, overtaking Neil Colzie's 82-yard interception return in the franchise record book. Quarles stepped in front of tight end Bubba Franks at the Tampa Bay 2-yard line, shook off Franks and another would-be tackler, and raced down the Bucs sidelines for a 98-yard score.
Quarles finished the game with two tackles, one pass defensed and one of the Buccaneers' three interceptions of Favre on defense.
