Bucs-Titans Preview

October 12 – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel North to take on the 0-3 Tennessee Titans this Sunday with hopes of improving their record to 3-1. Although escaping Adelphia Coliseum with a win over the winless Titans appears to be very possible, Tennessee has a 15-3 all-time record at home. Buccaneer Magazine has the Bucs-Titans preview.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their home opener against the undefeated Green Bay Packers with the help LB Shelton Quarles and FB Mike Alstott. Quarles intercepted Packers QB Brett Favre on the first play of the second quarter and returned it 92-yards for a Bucs touchdown. In the fourth quarter and the Bucs trailing 10-7, FB Mike Alstott made a terrific 39-yard run for a touchdown and lead. The defense held off a late surge by the Packers and QB Brett Favre.

LAST SEASON The Titans finished last season in 1st place of the AFC Central Division with a 13-3 record, but were eliminated by the Ravens in the second round of the playoffs.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO TEAMS MET: 1998- Tampa Bay hosted the Tennessee Oilers at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday Night Football one season before they changed their name to the Titans. The Bucs had a 16-3 lead at halftime, but lost 31-22. The Oilers/Titans rushed for 236 total yards, including 134 by RB Eddie George.
