BucMag MVP: WR Keyshawn Johnson

October 14 - Buccaneer Magazine has awarded Bucs WR Keyshawn Johnson the Most Valuable Player Award for his outstanding performance in Tampa Bay's 31-28 loss to the Tennessee Titans in overtime.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense came up short in overtime in their 31-28 loss to the Tennessee Titans, but that was no fault of primary wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson, who hauled in eight catches for a season-high 140 yards, which helped rally the Bucs with two late touchdowns to tie the game and force OT. For his efforts, Johnson is this week's BucMag.com Bucs MVP of the Game.

With the Buccaneers rushing for only 24 yards against Tennessee's stiff run defense, Tampa Bay turned to the air - and to Johnson - to produce the lion's share of yardage on the day. Johnson helped establish the Bucs' downfield passing game with gains of 21, 26 and 32 yards. Four of his eight catches went for first downs.

Johnson also drew a crucial 22-yard pass interference penalty in the fourth quarter on fourth down which gave the Bucs a first down on the Tennessee 14-yard line. Two plays later, Bucs quarterback Brad Johnson found Jacquez Green in the back of the end zone for a touchdown to cut the Titans lead down to seven.

Johnson also came up big on the Bucs' final scoring drive with a 26-yarder at the Titans' 5 with 1:07 left in the game.
