BucMag Bucs MVP: K Martin Gramatica

November 4 - Buccaneer Magazine has selected Bucs K Martin Gramatica as the team's most valuable player from Sunday's 21-20 loss to the Packers. Gramatica drilled two field goals, including a 49-yarder in the fourth quarter.

On Sunday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Martin Gramatica returned to Lambeau Field, the site of his huge missed field goal which cost the Bucs to lose an overtime contest to Green Bay last year as well as a home playoff game. Gramatica, who is this week's Buccaneer Magazine Pewter Player of the Game, didn't miss today, connecting on a 33-yarder to open the Bucs' scoring and a 49-yarder to build Tampa Bay's lead to 20-14 in the fourth quarter.

Gramatica was hyped up after his 49-yarder and even taunted Green Bay's Tyrone Williams after he made the kick. Last year, Gramatica got taunted by the Packers after he missed his potential game-winning field goal.

While Gramatica's day was good, it could have been better. Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy elected not to have Gramatica try a 67-yarder for the win. Instead, he opted for a Hail Mary pass, which fell incomplete. Gramatica was juiced with adrenaline from his 49-yard kick and was ready to take a chance at making history, as he did in college at Kansas State when he connected on an NCAA-record 65-yard field goal in 1998 against Northern Illinois.
