Bucs Sign CB Ivy to 53-Man Roster, Release Grice

November 10 - The Buccaneers signed CB Corey Ivy to their 53-man active roster on Saturday. The move comes after cornerbacks Donnie Abraham and Ronde Barber are both listed as probable on the eve of Tampa Bay's game against Detroit. To make room for Ivy on their roster, the Bucs released G Shane Grice.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed CB Corey Ivy to their 53-man roster on Saturday. Ivy's promotion comes on the eve of Tampa Bay's game at Detroit with both cornerbacks Donnie Abraham (Back) and Ronde Barber (Hamstring) listed as probable for Sunday.

Ivy (5-8, 183)first joined Tampa Bay on June 4 when he signed a two-year contract with the Buccaneers. Ivy was released on Sept. 2 before being signed to Tampa Bay's five-man practice squad on Sept. 3.

Ivy entered the NFL out of the University of Oklahoma as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots in 1999. Ivy had brief a brief stay with the Cleveland Browns in 2000, but was released before the start of training camp. Prior to joining the Browns, Ivy played for NFL Europe's Frankfurt Galaxy in 2000.

Ivy will wear jersey number 35.

To make room for Ivy on their roster, Tampa Bay released G Shane Grice.

Grice signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent on April 23 and was released on Aug. 27 before being signed on Sept. 26.
