"Nate Webster is probably going to miss most of the practice week," said head coach Tony Dungy. "So, we needed to get another linebacker and Eugene is here and he'll do a good job for us."
McCaslin (6-1, 228) fills the vacant spot on Tampa Bay's practice squad, which was created when the Bucs released CB Anthony Midget on Tuesday.
McCaslin was born and raised in Tampa and played at the University of Florida for four years. He entered the National Football League as a seventh-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2000. After spending the 2000 season and most of the 2001 offseason with the Packers, McCaslin was released by Green Bay in their final roster cut down. McCaslin recently spent 10 days on the St. Louis Rams' practice squad before being released on Friday.
McCaslin will wear jersey number 56.
Because of the frequent moves Tampa Bay has made on their practice squad, Buccaneer Magazine has compiled a list of the five players currently on it.
