November 18 - Buccaneer Magazine selected Bucs QB Brad Johnson as the team's most valuable player from Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Chicago Bears. Johnson set a new team record by completing 40 receptions and his 56 attempts tied a franchise record. Johnson threw for 399 yards and completed 71 percent of his passes. For his efforts, Johnson is Buccaneer Magazine's MVP.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Brad Johnson threw two costly interceptions which hurt his team's chances to beat the Chicago Bears, but he's also what kept the Bucs in the game down to the wire. For his gritty effort and amazing statistics, he is this week's Buccaneer Magazine Pewter Player of the Game despite Chicago's 27-24 victory over Tampa Bay.

Johnson's 40 completions set a new team record and his 56 attempts tied a franchise record. He completed 71 percent of his passes for 399 yards against Chicago.

Although Johnson did not throw a touchdown pass for the first time in four weeks, his 1-yard touchdown plunge with 2:40 left in the fourth quarter and subsequent two-point conversion pass to Mike Alstott brought the Bucs to within three points, 27-24.

Twenty-four of Johnson's 40 completions on the day were to Warrick Dunn and Keyshawn Johnson, who each caught a team-record 12 passes.

Johnson became the first Bucs quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards since Trent Dilfer threw for 301 against Minnesota on Nov. 3, 1999. That's 37-straight games between 300-yard passers.
