With 9:25 left in the second quarter, Bengals rookie punter Nick Harris lined up to punt at his own 29. Barber, who was locked up in single coverage against Kevin Kaesviharn, the Bengals' gunner. Harris looked concerned when Barber started to creep down towards the middle of the field to get in position to make a run at blocking the punt. At the snap of the ball, Barber came untouched from Harris' right side and snuffed the ball just after it made contact with the punter's foot.
Backup tight end Todd Yoder recovered the ball and raced 10 yards for a touchdown while Al Singleton turned to throw a key block. This play gave the Bucs a 7-3 lead and their only touchdown of the day.
Barber also forced a fumble, stripping RB Corey Dillon, and came up with nine tackles against Cincinnati.
