WR Keyshawn Johnson Named Bucs Player of the Year

January 3 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Keyshawn Johnson, who was selected to the Pro Bowl on Wednesday, was named the 2001 Miller Lite/Buccaneer Player of the Year on Thursday. Johnson is tied for the league lead with 106 receptions and has 1,266 yards receiving this season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Keyshawn Johnson was selected to his third Pro Bowl on Wednesday for the outstanding year he has put together, and on Thursday, Johnson was named the 2001 Miller Lite/Buccaneer Player of the Year.

In his sixth season as a pro, Johnson is currently tied with Denver's Rod Smith for the league lead with 106 receptions, a Tampa Bay single-season record, and he has a career-high 1,266 yards receiving, which ranks second all-time in club history.

Johnson, on behalf of the Miller Brewing Company, presented a check for $2,500 to the Glazer Family Foundation on Thursday after practice for their participation in the Miller Lite Player of the Year Program.

Miller Lite has donated more than $130,000 to local charities and more than $100,000 has been distributed through the 13-year Miller Lite NFL Player of the Year Program. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have chosen to donate the $2,500 check to the Glazer Family Foundation, which benefits the youth and their families.
