Bucs linebacker Simeon Rice became the 24th player in NFL history to record 100 sacks when he took down falcons quarterback Michael Vick in the second quarter. It was the first of two sacks on the afternoon for Rice. He also recovered two fumbles, tying him for the team lead.

ith a 27-0 win, the Bucs recorded their first shutout since Oct. 26, 2003. It was the ninth shutout in team history. XXX Running back Michael Pittman scored his 10th touchdown of the first season with a first quarter run around right end. It marks only the sixth time in franchise history that a Buccaneer has scored 10 touchdowns in a season. Pittman was suspended for the first four games of this season. XXX Mike Alstott's fourth quarter rushing touchdown was the 49th of his career. The Bucs are 40-9 all-time when Alstott scores at least one touchdown. Combined with Pittman's touchdown run, the Bucs have nine rushing touchdowns after having none in the first five weeks of the season. XXX Newcomer Jay Taylor made both field goal attempts, including a 50-yarder. He also made three extra points. They were the first points of his NFL career. He replaces Martin Gramatica who was released by the Bucs on Wednesday. XXX Wide receiver Joel Galloway caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Brian Griese in the third quarter, his first as a Buccaneer. XXX Defensive lineman Dewayne White recorded a sack in his sixth consecutive game.
