Bucs Work Out LB Abdullah

April 5 - Free agent linebacker Rahim Abdullah -- not to be confused with former Bucs running back Rabih Abdullah -- worked out with Tampa Bay during the team's first mini-camp. Abdullah is a former second-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns.

Former Clemson and Cleveland Browns linebacker Rahim Abdullah (6-foot-5, 233) worked out with the Bucs today, but he is not yet under contract. The Bucs have an interest in signing him, but wanted to work him out first. Bucs linebackers coach Joe Barry said that he had two good practices with the team.

Abdullah was a second-round pick by the Browns in 1999 after declaring early for the draft after his junior season. Upon being released by Cleveland after the 2000 season, he spent part of last season with the Minnesota Vikings.

He has played in 29 NFL games with 17 starts, including 13 his rookie season. Abdullah has notched 86 tackles, two sacks and has one career interception.
