LB Aldridge and 3 Others To Visit Bucs

May 7 - UPDATED - The free agent search continues. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will meet with and audition four players on Wednesday. Linebackers Allen Aldridge, Lee Woodall and Zack Walz, and offensive tackle Roman Oben are expected to meet with team officials at One Buccaneer Place.

The Buccaneers will host former Denver and Detroit linebacker Allen Aldridge and three other players on Wednesday at One Buccaneer Place. Offensive tackle Roman Oben and linebackers Zack Walz and Lee Woodall will join Aldridge for the workout.

Aldridge, 29, would help shore up the team's linebacker position, which is thin on experience behind starters Derrick Brooks, Shelton Quarles and Al Singleton. With the Bucs feeling confident with their starters coming out of mini-camp, Aldridge would only be signed as a reserve despite having experience starting at all three linebacker positions while with the Broncos and Lions.

Aldridge will also get an opportunity to long snap for Bucs personnel, and may be thrown into the mix that includes Mike Solwold and rookies Andy Hogan and Tracey Wistrom. The Bucs lost long snapper Sean McDermott to the Houston Texans in the expansion draft.

Woodall has spent the last two years playing for Carolina (2000) and Denver (2001) after spending the earlier part of his career in San Francisco. Walz has spent his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals. Oben was drafted by the New York Giants in 1996, but has spent the last two years with the Cleveland Browns.
