The Bucs signed veteran swing tackle Roman Oben to a one-year contract and released T DeMarcus Curry earlier this week.

Pierson (6-5, 315) entered the National Football League as Tampa Bay's fifth round selection out of the University of Washington in the 1994 NFL Draft.

Pierson, who started a career-high 15 games at left tackle in 2000, will add depth to Tampa Bay's offensive tackle position and is expected to continue to contribute on special teams.
