Bucs Sign FB Ken Walker To One-Year Contract

June 4 – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed undrafted rookie free agent fullback Ken Walker to a one-year contract on Tuesday. Walker will join fullbacks Mike Alstott, Jameel Cook and Mike Cerimele on Tampa Bay's roster, which now holds a whopping 95 players.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed a free agent on Tuesday, but it probably wasn't a name you were expecting. The Bucs inked undrafted rookie free agent fullback Ken Walker to a one-year contract.

Walker was a walk-on at the University of Washington in 1997. He played linebacker for the Huskies during his first two years and then made the switch to fullback. Walker played 18 games at fullback in 2000 and 2001.

Walker's 6-foot-1, 230-pound frame allowed him to be a potent lead blocker for the Huskies. He will join fullbacks Mike Alstott, Jameel Cook and Mike Cerimele at the team's voluntary workouts and the next mini-camp, which is scheduled for June 13-15.

With the addition of Walker, Tampa Bay's roster now has a total of 95 players on it. Teams are only permitted to have a total of 80 players on their rosters at this time of the year, but Tampa Bay's eight unsigned draft picks along with the team's allocated NFL Europe players do not count toward that league-mandated total.
