Bucs Sign Sixth-Round Draft Pick To 3-Year Deal

July 26 - The Buccaneers inked rookie defensive end John Stamper to a three-year contract on Friday. Stamper, who the Bucs drafted in the sixth round of April's draft out of South Carolina, was one of five Bucs draft picks to sign with the Bucs on Friday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed rookie defensive end John Stamper to a three-year contract on Friday. Tampa Bay drafted Stamper (6-4, 265) in the sixth round of April's draft out of South Carolina.

The former Gamecock has good quickness, hustle and pursuit. He finished his career at South Carolina with 103 tackles and six sacks.

Tampa Bay has signed seven of its eight 2002 draft picks -- TE Tracey Wistrom remains unsigned. The Bucs report to training camp on July 28 and expect to have Wistrom under contract.
