Barlow (6-foot, 190 pounds) is in his seventh year in the National Football League. He played for the Jacksonville Jaguars for for five seasons, which means he'll be reunited with his former Jags teammate WR Keenan McCardell, who signed with the Bucs during the offseason. Barlow spent 2001 with the Oakland Raiders.
Barlow is known more as a return specialist than a receiver. He's returned 146 punts for 1,573 yards (10.7 avg.) and two touchdowns and has brought back 70 kickoffs for 1,634 yards (23.3 avg.) and one touchdown.
Barlow has played in 69 games over his seven-year career and he's started in four of those. He has 33 career receptions for 472 yards.
Barlow will sport jersey No. 84.
In order to make room for Barlow on its 53-man roster, Tampa Bay released backup linebacker Jack Golden.
Bucs Assemble Five-Man Practice Squad
Tampa Bay assembled its five-man practice squad on Wednesday. Offensive tackle Dan Goodspeed, wide receiver Onome Ojo, linebacker Justin Smith, safety Dwayne Stukes and defensive end Greg White were all added on Wednesday.
