Pewter Report MVP: Derrick Brooks

September 15 - Tampa Bay weakside linebacker Derrick Brooks is this week's Pewter Player of the Game. He finished the game with four tackles and raced 97 yards for his second career touchdown with one minute remaining in regulation to preserve the shutout.

There were several deserving players for this week's Pewter Player of the Game award. Cornerback Ronde Barber deflected a career-high six passes, and Karl Williams had his fifth career punt return TD, but linebacker Derrick Brooks gets the nod for taking his second interception of the season back for a touchdown against Baltimore to preserve the shutout.

He finished the game with four tackles and raced 97 yards for his second career TD with one minute left in regulation. Brooks read QB Chris Redman's eyes and stepped in front of tight end Todd Heap to deflect the pass, then pick it off. Brooks tucked the ball away and raced down the right sidelines for the score, which was a bit of revenge for last year against the Ravens in which he raced 53 yards with an INT only to be knocked out at the Baltimore 1-yard line.
