Bucs-Falcons Game Notes

October 6 - PewterReport.com has compiled a notebook with news and notes from Tampa Bay's 20-6 win over the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday.

INJURY UPDATE: Right tackle Kenyatta Walker did not play due to a sprained ankle. Strong safety John Lynch left the game with a sprained knee and was replaced by John Howell. Defensive end Greg Spires took a knee to the head.

BUCS' INACTIVES: CB Tim Wansley, WR Charles Lee, QB Shaun King, FB Darian Barnes, RT Kenyatta Walker, WR Reggie Barlow, RB Travis Stephens and DT Buck Gurley.

VICK-TIM: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers harassed and hurt Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick on Sunday, knocking him out of the game with 13:13 left in the third quarter. Simeon Rice, who had two sacks against Vick, slammed Vick's right shoulder into the artificial turf, severely bruising it. The injury was so painful that Vick could not return. He finished the game with 37 yards passing (4-of-12) and one yard rushing.

DUNN IN: The Tampa Bay defense exposed Warrick Dunn for the glorified third down back that he is. Dunn found no running room against his former team and was booed at the end of the game by Falcons fans when he was getting carries instead of rookie tailback T.J. Duckett. Dunn had 14 yards on nine carries while Duckett led the Falcons with 52 yards on 11 carries.

QUICK HITS: Against Atlanta, Keyshawn Johnson hauled in his 500th career catch, and Keenan McCardell caught his 600th career pass. ... Cornerback Dwight Smith recorded his first career interception when he caught a deflected pass that was caused when Dexter Jackson laid a crushing hit on tight end Brian Kozlowski on an ill-fated fake punt. Smith finished with two INTs. ... The fact that the Bucs won their fourth consecutive game to move to 4-1 means that Tampa Bay avoids a 3-4 start for the fourth-straight year. ... The Bucs have won three consecutive road games. ... With linebacker Derrick Brooks' touchdown against Atlanta, Tampa Bay's defense has now scored a touchdown in four-straight games. ... The Bucs have not scored fewer than 20 points in a game this season. ... The Bucs have recorded an interception in every game this season.
