Piscitelli moved to injured reserve

Second-round pick Sabby Piscitelli is out for the season after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved the Oregon State product to injured reserve on Wednesday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that they have placed S Sabby Piscitelli on the Injured Reserve list.

Piscitelli fractured his right foot during the Buccaneers' 24-3 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The recovery period for such an injury is 6-8 week, meaning Piscitelli likely wouldn't be back on the roster until December.

By moving Piscitelli to injured reserve, the Buccaneers ended the Oregon State rookie's season.

Piscitelli, a second-round selection (64th overall) in the 2007 NFL Draft, played in all three games this season, posting two special teams tackles.

Additionally, the Buccaneers promoted WR Chad Lucas to the active roster from the practice squad, signed T Jason Capizzi and WR Micheal Spurlock to the practice squad and released C/G Enoka Lucas from the practice squad.

Chad Lucas was originally signed to the practice squad on September 2, 2007. He also spent a portion of the 2006 season on the Tampa Bay practice squad.

Capizzi originally signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2007. He was released by the Steelers on September 1 and subsequently spent September 12-17 on the New York Jets practice squad.

Spurlock, begins his second stint this season on the Tampa Bay practice squad after spending September 4-20 with the Buccaneers.

Enoka Lucas was re-signed to the practice squad on September 20 after spending September 2-6 on the Buccaneers practice squad.
