Garcia inactive for Saints

Tampa Bay made starting quarterback Jeff Garcia inactive on Sunday, meaning Luke McCown will start for the Buccaneers against the New Orleans Saints.

Tampa Bay ruled Jeff Garcia inactive on Sunday, paving the way for Luke McCown to make his first start since 2004 against New Orleans.

Garcia will be the third quarterback. That means he can play, but if he enters the game no other quarterback can play after him. It appears the only way Garcia will play today is if McCown and backup Bruce Gradkowski are hurt.

McCown received the bulk of the practice reps this week. Garcia did not practice until Friday.

Tampa Bay is 7-4 and, with a win on Sunday, can take a three-game lead with four games to play in the NFC South, all but clinching the Bucs' second division title in three years.
