Bucs-Eagles Game Notes

October 20 - PewterReport.com has compiled a notebook full of news and notes from Tampa Bay's 20-10 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday.

INJURY UPDATE: Bucs nose tackle Anthony McFarland (ankle sprain), defensive tackle Warren Sapp (knee sprain), free safety Dexter Jackson (turf toe) and strong safety John Lynch (knee sprain) started against the Eagles despite their injuries. During the game, quarterback Brad Johnson suffered bruised ribs with 13:55 left in the fourth quarter and did not return.

BUCS' INACTIVES: CB Tim Wansley, WR Charles Lee, QB Shaun King, FB Darian Barnes, T/G Tutan Reyes, WR Reggie Barlow, RB Travis Stephens and DE Corey Smith.

SEMI-AUTOMATIC: After missing a field goal and having one blocked last week, Martin Gramatica's struggled again. After making a 48-yard field goal earlier in the game, Gramatica missed a key 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

DEFENSE SCORES AGAIN: The Bucs defense has scored a touchdown in all four road contests this year. Linebacker Derrick Brooks scored on an 11-yard fumble recovery against the Eagles, and also had a 97-yard interception return for a touchdown against Baltimore and had a 15-yard interception return for a score at Atlanta. Shelton Quarles had a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown at Cincinnati.

QUICK HITS: The Bucs lost their third straight game at Veterans Stadium and their fourth-straight game to Philadelphia. ...With his 11-yard fumble return for a TD against the Eagles, Derrick Brooks ties an NFL record for the most touchdowns by a defensive player in a season (4). ... With an INT against the Eagles today, QB Brad Johnson has thrown five interceptions and zero touchdowns in his last two games at Veterans Stadium. ... Bucs RT Kenyatta Walker was called for two false start penalties on Sunday. His second false start negated a Michael Pittman fumble near the Eagles' goal line. ... After two straight games without a catch, WR Joe Jurevicius recorded three catches for 35 yards. ... The Bucs lost for the first time on the road this year. The loss also snaps Tampa Bay's five-game winning streak. The Bucs slipped a game behind New Orleans in the NFC South. ... The Bucs' record versus NFC teams this year is now 2-2.
