Pewter Report MVP: Brian Kelly

October 20 - Aggressive Tampa Bay cornerback Brian Kelly is playing with confidence and had another solid outing on Sunday. Kelly had an interception and a career-high four passes defensed in the Buccaneers' 20-10 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelly is the Pewter Player of the Game.

There weren't too many heroes in Tampa Bay's 20-10 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday, which was the third straight crushing defeat that the Buccaneers have had at Veterans Stadium. Perhaps the best player wearing pewter and red on Sunday was cornerback Brian Kelly, who recorded his second interception of the year when he picked off Donovan McNabb in the first half.

Kelly earns this week's Pewter Player of the Game for coming up with that big interception in addition to posting five tackles and recording a career-high four passes defensed against the Eagles. He generally provided real tight coverage against Eagles receivers James Thrash and Todd Pinkston.

Kelly, a second-round draft pick in 1998, came into 2002 with only three career INTs, but already has two this year.
