on how the reps were split at quarterback on Thursday
We're splitting the reps and getting both guys ready to play, trying to get both sharp and both ready to roll.
on if he wants to see the offensive line play
Yeah, we want to see the linemen play, and we need them to play. We're going to be blocking some of the best players in the world, and to have a chance to compete with them we're going to have to play one heck of a game up front.
on if he thinks Carolina is a good matchup to preview the Giants
Yeah, I do. They're massive football teams, deep backfields and explosive skill on the outside, and both teams have very good corner coverage. The Panthers have three different cover guys and the Giants appear to have outstanding players as well. That's where the meeting rooms and the practice work have to take all of it into consideration. When we get to the game on Sunday we're going to dress 45 guys that are healthy and try to use our best judgment.
on Carolina QB Matt Moore
He's getting better the more he plays. He's an athletic guy and he brings life to their huddle. I see him uplifting the guys around him, he knows where to go with the ball and he's done some good things, I think. He's a young guy gaining momentum and that's the way it is sometimes in pro football.
on Jeremiah Trotter accepting a different role in Tampa
He was released in training camp and that was a tough deal for him. He was a leader on Philadelphia's defense and a heck of a player. But I think he understands that the guy he's backing up right now is a hell of a football player. But I can't say enough about Trot. He is a consummate pro. He cares about the success of the guy next to him as much as he cares about success for himself, and he ultimately wants to win. Guys like that, you just can't have enough of that around you, and I compliment him highly for that.
