NFL Draft Quick Hit with Chris Steuber

Chris Steuber is's NFL Draft analyst. He recently published his latest 2008 Mock Draft leading up to the NFL Scouting Combine. In our fourth edition of the 2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft Q&A, I ask him to break down his projected pick for the Bucs. To read more of my Q&A with Steuber, check back on Thursday for the entire premium Q&A.

Matthew Postins: You've remained pretty steadfast in your belief that the Buccaneers will take California's DeSean Jackson with their first-round pick (No. 20 overall). I certainly agree that the Bucs need wide receiver help. But what's keeping Jackson's value so steady while the value of other players in your latest mock draft — such as RB Darren McFadden and CB Mike Jenkins — fluctuate?

Chris Steuber: Good question. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that most of the seniors have performed this off-season, while the juniors haven't. I've studied these players all season long and have an idea of where they may land, but as we all know the offseason counts as another season for these prospects, and their performance will be remembered on draft day.
