Bucs Go Back To Work

November 11 – Tampa Bay returned to practice Monday morning after a three-day vacation. The Bucs welcomed free safety Dexter Jackson and defensive tackle Warren Sapp back to practice on Monday. The team will hold its next practice on Wednesday at One Buccaneer Place.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned to work Monday morning after a three-day break. The Bucs held what head coach Jon Gruden deemed a ‘bonus practice' on Monday morning. Tampa Bay will host the 3-6 Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium. The Panthers have lost six straight games.

While the Bucs spent Monday preparing for the Panthers, they also welcomed free safety Dexter Jackson (sore foot) and defensive tackle Warren Sapp (sore knee) back to practice. Both Jackson and Sapp were held out of the team's two workouts last week.

Tampa Bay is in fairly good shape for its game against Carolina. The only Bucs player expected to miss Sunday's game is nose tackle Anthony McFarland (broken forearm). The Bucs expect center Jeff Christy, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee last week, to return to practice Wednesday and play against Carolina. But Gruden said the Bucs still have a question mark on wide receiver Joe Jurevicius' (ankle/knee sprain) status for the team's game against the Panthers.

"We had a good practice today," Gruden said. "Jeff Christy did not practice. We're going to be optimistic about having him back on Wednesday. Joe Jurevicius did not practice. We're optimistic about having him back on Wednesday, but they're questionable for this game. Everybody else returned to practice.

"Everybody but McFarland I think has a reasonable chance to play. Jeff Christy had arthroscopic surgery and our understanding is that there's a good chance he's ready to play. Jurevicius is still a concern of mine, he's not able to really let it go yet. I would say he's probably the most doubtful of the injured players."

Tampa Bay will hold its next practice on Wednesday at One Buccaneer Place. The Bucs will hold two more practices on Thursday and Friday before they clash with Carolina at 4:05 p.m. ET. Sunday.
