Pewter Report MVP: Simeon Rice

November 17 - Pewter Report has selected Tampa Bay right defensive end Simeon Rice as the Pewter Player of the Game for his outstanding performance against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Rice notched two sacks, four tackles and a forced fumble against the Carolina Panthers.

It was very tough select this week's Pewter Player of the Game due to several outstanding performances. Cornerbacks Brian Kelly and Dwight Smith had big days, as did linebackers Derrick Brooks and Shelton Quarles. On offense, the line played well, as did quarterback Brad Johnson and receivers Keenan McCardell, Keyshawn Johnson and Joe Jurevicius.

But the award goes to defensive end Simeon Rice, who notched two sacks, four tackles and a forced fumble against the Carolina Panthers. Rice was dominant all day rushing against Panthers left tackle Todd Stuessie and pressuring QB Rodney Peete. Rice leads the Bucs with five forced fumbles and 9.5 sacks and needs just two more sacks to surpass last year's total of 11.

Rice has 20.5 sacks as a Buc, which ranks him 10th on the club's all-time list.
