Bucs-Packers Game Notes

November 24 - PewterReport.com has compiled a notebook with news and notes from Tampa Bay's 21-7 win over the Green Bay Packers.

INJURY UPDATE: Cornerback Ronde Barber started and played with a cast on his broken thumb. Kenyatta Walker started at right tackle despite having an ankle sprain. Middle linebacker Shelton Quarles left the game with a left hamstring strain with four minutes left in the third quarter. Nate Webster replaced Quarles, who later returned to the game. Fullback Jameel Cook sprained his left ankle in the fourth quarter and did not return.

BUCS' INACTIVES: FB Darian Barnes, CB Tim Wansley, DT Anthony McFarland, WR Charles Lee, WR Reggie Barlow, DE Corey Smith, OT Dan Goodspeed and QB Shaun King.

A REAL EYE SORE: On the second play of the game, Tampa Bay quarterback Brad Johnson had his right eye poked by defensive end Vonnie Holliday and left the game until the 10:04 mark in the second quarter.

KELLY TO PRO BOWL?: Tampa Bay cornerback Brian Kelly recorded two INTs on Sunday and now has six picks, which is a career-high and leads the NFL. Kelly could be heading to his first Pro Bowl.

QUICK HITS: Bucs DT Chuck Darby got his first sack of the season and extended Tampa Bay's league-leading sack streak to 55 consecutive games. The NFL record is 68 games by the Dallas Cowboys (1976-80). DE Simeon Rice recorded two sacks and leads the Bucs with 11.5 sacks this season. Rice posted 11 sacks last year. ... The Bucs now have INTs in 15 regular season games, which ties the team record. ... The Bucs' 9-2 start is the best in team history.
