Bucs-Falcons Game Notes

December 8 - PewterReport.com has compiled a notebook full of news and notes from Tampa Bay's 34-10 win over Atlanta on Sunday.

INJURY UPDATE: Nose tackle Anthony McFarland played and started for the first time in five weeks. Strong safety John Lynch sprained his neck in the first quarter and did not return. X-rays were negative. John Howell replaced Lynch and played well. Shelton Quarles was injured and was replaced by Nate Webster.

BUCS' INACTIVES: CB Tim Wansley, TE Casey Crawford, WR Charles Lee, WR Reggie Barlow, DE Ellis Wyms, DT DeVon Claybrooks, OT Dan Goodspeed and QB Rob Johnson.

SURGING O-LINE: Tampa Bay's offensive line played outstanding against Atlanta, only giving up one sack, and that occurred when Brad Johnson tripped dropping back. The Bucs' running game was also very effective against Atlanta's red-hot defense. Tampa Bay rushed for 150 yards, which is their second-highest rushing output of the season, led by Mike Alstott's 95 yards.

BIG DAY FOR J.J.: Tampa Bay receiver Joe Jurevicius had a huge day for the Bucs, catching eight passes for 100 yards, including Brad Johnson's first two touchdown passes to put his team up 14-0. His eight catches tied a career high, and his 100-yard day is his first as a Buccaneer.

QUICK HITS: SS John Howell recorded his first NFL sack when he dropped Michael Vick in the first quarter. ... The 10-3 Bucs have recorded at least 10 wins in a season for the fifth time in team history. ... DE Simeon Rice failed to record a sack for the first time in six games.
