Pewter Report MVP: Brad Johnson

December 8 - Tampa Bay quarterback Brad Johnson is this week's Pewter Player of the Game. Johnson completed 74 percent of his passes and threw four touchdowns against Atlanta.

Tampa Bay quarterback Brad Johnson outdueled the vaunted Michael Vick and stated his case for the Pro Bowl by throwing for 276 yards and four touchdowns. After hearing all week about Vick's amazing exploits last week against Minnesota in which he set a record for rushing yards for a quarterback with 173 yards, it was Johnson's turn to be flashy.

Johnson, who established a new team single-season record with 22 TDs this year, was deadly accurate against Atlanta, completing 74 percent of his passes and spreading the ball around to seven different receivers. Johnson had time to throw and was extremely successful in hitting receivers in stride and executing the pump fake to help his targets get open. Johnson also threw the ball up to Joe Jurevicius on several occasions to allow the 6-foot-5 receiver to make plays on jump balls.
