"It's great for the team," Johnson said of the award on Wednesday afternoon. "For one, you have to win to win the award. And two, it says you have a lot of good players playing around you that are playing at a high level. So, it's a nice honor for the team, but we have to put it on the shelf and move on and get ready for Detroit."
Johnson, who is ranked first in the NFC and fourth in the NFL in passing, has completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 2,796 yards and has thrown a club-record 22 touchdowns and just six interceptions for a quarterback rating of 94.5 this season.
In Tampa Bay's last five games, Johnson has completed 65.4 percent of his passes for 1,252 yards and he's tossed 15 touchdowns and just one interception.
Wednesday's honor marks Johnson's sixth player of the week award and its the second time he's won the award this season (Week 9). Johnson is the first offensive player in franchise history to win the player of the week award twice in one season.
