BUCS' INACTIVES: CB Tim Wansley, TE Casey Crawford, WR Charles Lee, WR Reggie Barlow, DT Buck Gurley, DT DeVon Claybrooks, OT Dan Goodspeed and QB Brad Johnson.
NO HOMEFIELD FOR BUCS: With the loss to Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay cannot get homefield advantage in the NFC. The best Tampa Bay can do is get the No. 2 seed by winning at Chicago and having 12-3 Green Bay lose next week at New York against the Jets. Tampa Bay slips from the second seed in the NFC to the third seed. If the playoffs started today the Bucs would not have a first-round bye and would host a Wild Card playoff game.
QUICK HITS: Prior to the start of the game, Bucs linebacker Nate Webster and Steelers linebacker Joey Porter got into a shoving match. Defensive tackle Warren Sapp and running back Jerome Bettis also pushed and shoved. ... When FS Dexter Jackson recovered a fumble in the second half, it marked the 40th-straight game with a takeaway for the Bucs, which is the longest streak in the NFL. ... Bucs DE Simeon Rice recorded a sack in the first quarter which extended Tampa Bay's sack streak to 59-straight games, which is the longest in the NFL. ... QB Shaun King was pulled with 6:40 left in the third quarter in favor of Rob Johnson.
