Pewter Report MVP: Michael Pittman

December 29 - This week's Pewter Player of the Game goes to Buccaneers halfback Michael Pittman, who had a season-high 90 yards rushing on 21 carries and led a running game that produced 161 yards.

Tampa Bay benefitted from several great individual performances in their 15-0 win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Corner Brian Kelly had two interceptions, linebacker Derrick Brooks had several big hits and a key pick, Martin Gramatica made all five of his field goal attempts and quarterback Rob Johnson was efficient and turnover-free. But this week's Pewter Player of the Game award goes to halfback Michael Pittman, who had a season-high 90 yards rushing on 21 carries and keyed a running game that totaled 161 yards.

Pittman picked up four of the Bucs' 15 first downs, including one on a 21-yard screen pass. He finished with two catches for 28 yards.

On a night when Jon Gruden was going to lean heavily on the running game instead of putting the game in Johnson's hands, Pittman produced.
