Rice Fined For Missing Pro Bowl Practice

January 31 – Tampa Bay right defensive end Simeon Rice was a no-show Friday for the NFC's team meeting and practice in Honolulu, Hawaii. The NFL slapped Rice with a $4,000 fine due to the fact that NFC head coach Andy Reid declared the absence unexcused.

Tampa Bay right defensive end Simeon Rice was missing in action from the NFC's team meeting and practice in Honolulu, Hawaii on Friday.

NFC head coach Andy Reid declared Rice's absence unexcused, which was why the NFL fined Tampa Bay's 2002 sack leader $4,000.

Rice was not the only player that skipped out on Friday's session. San Francisco wide receiver Terrell Owens was also a no-show. The NFL also fined Owens $4,000 for the unexcused absence.

When finally located in his hotel room, Rice reportedly told officials that he was sick and in bed. Rice is still expected to start at right defensive end for the NFC in the Pro Bowl.
