Bucs Get Two Nationally Televised Preseason Games

February 27 - The National Football League has announced its 2003 preseason national television schedule and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be featured in two of the 11 games. The Bucs will play the New York Jets in Tokyo, Japan on August 2. The game will be televised by ESPN. In Week 2 of the preseason, the St. Louis Rams will host Tampa Bay on Aug. 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET, and that contest will be nationally televised on ABC's Monday Night Football.

The NFL has announced its 2003 preseason national television schedule and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be featured in two of the 11 contests.

The Bucs will play its first preseason contest on August 2 against the New York Jets in the American Bowl, which will be played in Tokyo, Japan. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN, but a time for the Bucs-Jets game will be announced at a later date.

The defending Super Bowl champions will then appear on ABC's Monday Night Football in Week 2 in an exhibition against the St. Louis Rams. The Bucs and Rams will clash on Aug. 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The Bucs will play five preseason games in 2003. In addition to its games vs. the Jets and Rams, the Bucs will also play a road game against the Miami Dolphins, and home games against Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans.

The NFL will release Tampa Bay's 2003 regular season schedule in late March or early April.
