Yeah I know he's a rookie, but he has shown me nada of anything remotely promising. One thing I have learned from this QB drama the past 3 years. If a QB isn't accurate at the college or pro level, it can't be fixed.
Which is why I think Alex Smith if we tailor an Offense to fit his strengths is truly our best option next year. Realistically though ... this feels like a 2 year rebuild at least. Fix the O-line this season roll with the growing pains and then get our QB for the future next offseason. Every week more and more holes are becoming apparent on this team.
I.e. Paris Lenon has slowed waaayyy down. He can still wrap guys up that run downhill, but in pursuit it ain't happening. Our RB's look awful. LSH is honestly the best overall runner we have.

Oh, I suppose a combination of a Russell Wilson and a Marshawn Lynch added to our team would turn things around, especially given the WR's we have. But it's what Calais didn't say that's significant......and that is......we also need a new coach for those couple of players to make a difference.
I believe we'd be in playoff contention, or better, had Kolb not gone down. And that's with our top two RB's missing nearly the entire season. I'm not real confident we'd go far after that, however. This team needs some work, I just don't think an extensive overhaul is necessary.
Think about this Wellfed. FO will approach Kolb and demand a pay cut or he gets released. He'd be a fool not to accept it because few (if any) other teams would give him a legit shot and certainly not the kind of money he is making now. We also target this year's most accurate QB in the NFL (look it up if you need to) in Alex Smith. Hopefully Hoyer shows some promise Sun. That trio of QB's looks a hell of a lot better than what we have now. We build the O-line through the draft this year. Maybe pick up the last impact player in our LB core that we need and suddenly things look a lot better.
I'm also assuming some big changes in Offensive coaching and FO in this scenario
