Cardinals: Week 2 Report Card

How did the Cardinals grade out following a 41-7 loss against Atlanta? Find out here.

PASSING OFFENSE: D -- Derek Anderson completed just 1-of-9 passes on third down. He was pressured and was the victim of a dropped pass. Still, he has to make some plays in those situations. The protection was sloppy and receivers made too many assignment errors.

RUSHING OFFENSE: B -- The Cardinals had 118 yards on 13 carries, thanks to Hightower's 80-yard touchdown run. They couldn't stick with the run because the score was lopsided by halftime.

PASSING DEFENSE: F -- Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 21 of 32 for 225 yards and three touchdowns. The Cardinals rarely pressured him, and the secondary did not hold up well. A bad combination.

RUSHING DEFENSE: F -- The Cardinals were manhandled and took a physical beating. The Falcons did whatever they wanted. Third-string running back Jason Snelling gained 129 yards on 24 carries and scored twice.

SPECIAL TEAMS: B -- LaRod Stephens-Howling had a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown nullified by penalty. Punter Ben Graham was solid and the coverage teams were average.

COACHING: D -- The Falcons offense dominated. The Cardinals seemed to have to have no answers, and appeared to be caught in the wrong alignments at the wrong time. Offensively, the Cardinals continue to make far too many mistakes to beat a good team, especially on the road.
