Cardinals Report Card

Arizona has shown improvement in some areas of late but continues to struggle on both sides of the ball.

PASSING OFFENSE: D -- Derek Anderson passed for 295 yards, but they were mostly empty. He overthrew several receivers, including two long ones to Steve Breaston. The Cardinals dropped a handful of passes, too.

RUSHING OFFENSE: B -- The Cardinals rushed efficiently, gaining 101 yards on 20 carries. Seven offensive penalties put them in poor down-and-distance situations, which limited running opportunities.

PASS DEFENSE: D -- Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel completed only 15 passes, but two of them went for touchdowns, and he wasn't sacked. The Cardinals only hit him once. The secondary is still allowing receivers to run free.

RUSHING DEFENSE: F -- They yielded runs of 39 and 28 yards and gave up a total of 159 yards on 29 carries, a 5.5-yard average.

SPECIAL TEAMS: C -- Kick returner LaRod Stephens-Howling didn't play because of a hamstring strain. Jay Feely made both field-goal attempts. Trumaine McBride missed a chance to down a punt at the 1.

COACHING: D -- The Cardinals have lost five consecutive games, last winning on Oct. 10. The coaching staff doesn't have many options when it comes to personnel changes. Coach Ken Whisenhunt is satisfied with how his team practices, but its performances aren't improving.
