--The six-game losing streak is the longest since the team lost eight consecutive games in 2006. At 3-8, the Cardinals are assured of having their first non-winning season since 2007.
--RB Beanie Wells has complained about not getting more carries, but he didn't help his cause by fumbling on the team's first possession Monday night. Wells had his upper arm too low, and quarterback Derek Anderson hit it with the ball. The 49ers recovered and scored on a 38-yard pass on the next play. "It's something you can do 100 times and never have it happen, but this time it did and it really hurt us," Whisenhunt said.
--QB Derek Anderson said he and Deuce Lutui weren't making light of the Cardinals predicament when ESPN cameras caught them smiling together on the sideline in the fourth quarter on Monday night. Pressed for details about the conversation, Anderson became angry and left the interview room. "Every single week I put my heart and soul into this," Anderson said. "I study my (tail) off. I don't go out there and laugh. It's not funny. I don't want to go out there and get embarrassed on Monday Night Football in front of everybody."
--Defensive end Darnell Dockett said the team must try finding a different motivating factor over the next five weeks. "It's tough because you don't know what you are playing for," he said. "We are used to trying to get into the playoffs, probably at this time, or trying to clinch the division like two years ago at this time. So for us to be on a six-game losing streak, it's tough."
--DE Darnell Dockett is playing through a painful shoulder stinger that has weakened his left arm. Dockett left the game briefly in the first half but returned.
--DE Calais Campbell is expected to return to action this week after missing last week's game with a sprained ankle. Alan Branch started in his place.
--CB Greg Toler is expected to return to action this week after missing last week's game with a foot injury. Mike Adams started in his place.
--WR Larry Fitzgerald needs four catches to tie Anquan Boldin as the team's all-time leader in receptions.
--LB Paris Lenon left Monday night's game early with a left knee injury but it appears he will be available for Sunday's game against the Rams.
