--Quarterback Derek Anderson met with reporters Wednesday for the first time since his postgame tirade Monday night. Anderson opened Wednesday's press conference with self-deprecation. "Let's try this in a manner that doesn't end up all over 'YouTube' if we can," he said.
On Monday, Anderson had reacted angrily to questions about why he was smiling late in Sunday's game when the Cardinals were getting blown out. Two days later, he apologized for his outburst.
--Anderson declined to play victim on Wednesday, even though some questions were framed that way. Asked if he's taking more blame than he should, Anderson replied: "I don't know necessarily how much I have been blamed. I put my phones away (Tuesday), everything. I don't read anything."
--The Cardinals and Rams played on opening weekend, which St. Louis coach Steve Spagnuolo said seemed like three years ago.
"It seems a heck of a lot longer than three years ago to me," Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "It has been a pretty tough stretch for us."
--The current six-game losing streak is the team's longest since Whisenhunt became coach in 2007. But such streaks are common in Cardinals history. They have lost at least five consecutive games in 10 of their 23 seasons in Arizona.
--Receiver Steve Breaston is taking the losing especially hard, and he's tired of hearing how well the team is practicing. "Let's be honest, practice is not game day," he said. "You have to turn it up a notch. You aren't in line against your teammates. That's what it boils down to, showing up on Sundays."
--WR Larry Fitzgerald needs five receptions to pass Anquan Boldin as the franchise's all-time leader. Boldin has 586 catches. Fitzgerald is third in receiving yardage, behind Jackie Smith and Roy Green. He needs 161 yards to pass Green but is 760 yards behind Smith. He is two touchdown receptions behind Green (64).
--WR Steve Breaston is averaging 78.3 yards receiving per game. That's third in the NFC and eighth in the NFL.
--K Jay Feely has made 13 of 14 field goals, with his only miss coming from 54 yards.
--TE Jim Dray, a seventh-round pick, has received more playing time in the past two weeks. Ben Patrick is playing less, mostly because he has struggled as a blocker.
--CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie blocked a field goal against the 49ers. It was his first block this season and the third of his career. From 2008 through the present, the Cardinals have blocked more field goals (seven) than any other team.
