--RB/KR LaRod Stephens-Howling aggravated a hamstring strain and didn't play in the second half. It's a big blow because he has been one of the few consistent offensive weapons.
--WR Early Doucet suffered a hip flexor injury and his availability for next week is in question.
--LB Joey Porter has a triceps injury and results won't be know until an MRI is completed. There's a chance Porter could be lost for the season.
--WR Larry Fitzgerald hit the 8,000-yard receiving milestone. At 27, he is the second youngest player in league history to do it. Randy Moss did it at 26.
--QB Derek Anderson has missed two weeks of practice and games because of a concussion. Anderson has declined comment about the injury, but it's obviously serious. It's doubtful he will play against this season.
--DE Calais Campbell has played better over the last month. He had 11 tackles against the Panthers.
TRENDING: Over the past month, strong safety Adrian Wilson has played closer to scrimmage than he did earlier in the season. The move has paid off for the Cardinals because that's where Wilson excels. He's not a great pass defender, but he is physical against the run and effective in blitzing, often drawing matchups with running backs. Defensive coordinator Bill Davis is taking more chances with Wilson, but it begs the question what took so long. Over the first half of the season, Wilson was a liability in pass coverage, struggling to cover elite tight ends.
BY THE NUMBERS: The Cardinals entered the Carolina game ranked last in the NFL in third-down conversion (26.4 percent). Most of the problem can be directly attributed to poor quarterback play. The Cardinals are completing barely 50 percent of their passes, and former starters Derek Anderson and Max Hall just couldn't make plays on third down. They didn't get enough help, either, as receivers dropped an abnormal number of passes and there were too many breakdowns in protection. The Cardinals, who lead the league in percentage of passes dropped, have dropped six in their last two games.
