The college all-star circuit kicked off earlier this week and the Cardinals are fast at work trying to improve on a dismal 5-11 season. Arizona has expressed interest in several participants of this weekend's East-West Shrine Game, find out who below.
Idaho quarterback Nathan Enderle – Interest from Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals
Enderlie is clearly a late-round prospect who the Cardinals would only be willing to invest a late-round pick on or sign as an undrafted free agent. Enderlie has good size but his release is suspect, taking too long to deliver the ball. A project that probably won't wind up in the desert.
Washington State guard Zachary Williams - Interest from Arizona Cardinals
Arizona's interest in Williams could provide some insight into the future's of Alan Faneca and Deuce Lutui. Faneca is pondering retirement while Lutui is an unrestricted free agent and will be looking for a long-term deal. That said, Williams isn't projected to be a difference maker, at least early in his career.
UCLA defensive tackle David Carter - Interest from Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots
The Cardinals have plenty of talent along the defensive line but could suffer from a rash of defections leading to depth issues. Carter would be a late-round prospect targeted to develop for the future while providing reassurance in the trenches and possibly on special teams.
Washington safety Nate Williams - Interest from Arizona Cardinals
Arizona will eventually need to address the safety position but probably not this year. Adrian Wilson and Kerry Rhodes are expected back and Rashad Johnson has progressed into a serviceable backup and contributor in nickel situations. Williams could be an undrafted free agent with a chance to make the practice squad in 2011.
