CB Patrick Peterson proved his worth as a top 5 draft pick and a handful of others stepped up for Arizona in the regular-season opener.

--CB Patrick Peterson, the fifth overall pick, struggled in pass coverage at times. But he proved he's dynamic as a punt returner. His 89-yard return for a touchdown was the go-ahead score.

--ILB Daryl Washington suffered a strained calf and will be evaluated further on Monday. Washington is poised for a breakout year, and coordinator Ray Horton has designed this defense for Washington to make plays.

--WR Early Doucet's 70-yard touchdown reception was the longest of his career.

--K Jay Feely missed a 36-yard field goal. He made all 14 attempts from less than 40 yards in 2010.

--RB LaRod Stephens-Howling suffered a hand contusion and will be examined further on Monday.

--LT Levi Brown gave up two sacks in the first quarter but played better the rest of the game. He did not yield another sack.
