--C Lyle Sendlein isn't a fan of wearing a microphone during games, a result of a new mandate by the NFL designed to enhance the audio for telecasts. "It's easy for a team to grab a TV copy (of the game) and get your line calls, especially in the two-minute or the hurry-up, where you're calling the play at the line," Sendlein said.
That information is not supposed to be broadcast, but Sendlein said it is.
"I remember watching Atlanta on the plane (last Sunday night), and you could hear everything they were saying, every call when they are in the hurry-up offense," he said. "I don't understand why they're (the NFL) doing it."
--The Cardinals practiced twice this week then took four days off, Thursday through Sunday. Under the new CBA, players have to receive four consecutive days off during the bye week. QB Kevin Kolb will try to get away but the game is as close as his IPad. "I downloaded all the Steelers stuff and cut-ups," said Kolb, referring to the next opponent. I'm planning on not getting away that much, I guess is what I'm really trying to say."
--Coaches will work through the week, then take the weekend off. "You have to take a break," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "We have been grinding away for two months now."
--Coach Ken Whisenhunt constantly refers to the need for his players to make plays. The opportunities are there, he said.
"Quite frankly, we have to have some guys catch the balls in (big) situations," Whisenhunt said.
BY THE NUMBERS: 7 -- The Cardinals have had seven passes intercepted. Only Philadelphia, with nine, has more. Dallas, San Diego and Denver also have had seven passes intercepted.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "In the NFL, every week is new territory. There is stuff that comes up that you are like, 'Man, I never thought I'd be in this position.' You have to fight through it, and the tough ones, they last." -- QB Kevin Kolb on his struggles in the first five games.
