--QB John Skelton was elevated to the No. 2 job Sunday against the Steelers. Skelton suffered a high ankle sprain in training camp, so Rich Bartel became Kevin Kolb's top backup. With some extra practice time because of the bye week, Skelton moved past Bartel.
--RB Beanie Wells suffered a sprained right knee in the first half and did not return. The severity of the injury was unknown.
--RB LaRod Stephens-Howling showed again why he is so dangerous in the open field. He took a short pass 73 yards for a touchdown. It came on a play in which the primary receivers were not open.
--CB Richard Marshall played some snaps at free safety in place of starter Kerry Rhodes, who is out with a broken left foot.
--WR Andre Roberts, the starter opposite Larry Fitzgerald, caught only one pass. He has just four catches in the past three games.
