--TE Todd Heap was limited in practice this week and likely will be questionable for the Ravens game. Coaches would like to at least use him in red-zone and third-down packages.
--RB Beanie Wells practiced on a limited basis late in the week. Wells has a sprained knee and likely will be a game-time decision.
--RB Alfonso Smith will start if Beanie Wells can't play. Smith has looked good in limited time this year but he also has limited experience. At 208 pounds, he's small, too.
--OLB Joey Porter has a sore knee and might not be able to play on Sunday. If he can't play, Sam Acho or O'Brien Schofield will replace him.
--QB John Skelton is now the backup to Kevin Kolb. Skelton was No. 2 until suffering a high ankle sprain in preseason. He was replaced by Rich Bartel, who was the backup through the first five games.
GAME PLAN: Running back Beanie Wells isn't expected to play, which is a blow to the Cardinals' chances of winning. It's a cliche, but they can't be one dimensional on offense against the Ravens. Wells' replacement, Alfonso Smith, has shown flashes of ability, but the Cardinals will need more than flashes this week. On Monday night, the Jaguars had great success playing man coverage on the Ravens' receivers, who couldn't get open. The Cardinals have talent at cornerback, but A.J. Jefferson and Patrick Peterson are young and prone to mistakes. Free safety Kerry Rhodes is out with a foot injury, and Rashad Johnson isn't as good.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Cardinals LT Levi Brown and RT Brandon Keith vs. Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs -- The Cardinals are still paying for their decision to pass on Suggs in the 2003 draft. He's an elite pass rusher, something the Cardinals could desperately use. Brown and Keith both have had problems in pass protection.
Cardinals QB Kevin Kolb vs. Ravens S Ed Reed - Reed is as smart as they come, and Kolb is struggling with accuracy and decision-making. That is not a good combination for the Cardinals.
Cardinals ILB Daryl Washington vs. Ravens RB Ray Rice - Stopping Rice won't be just Washington's responsibility, but Washington will need to have a big day. Washington is fast and physical and he'll need both qualities to have any success against Rice, who wasn't used much in a loss on Monday night to the Jaguars.
