CHICAGO - One of the faces of Wisconsin football, senior linebacker Chris Borland - one of three Badgers representing the team at Big Ten Media Days - continues to earn preseason awards.

Borland was one of 10 players announced by the Big Ten on its third annual 'Players to Watch' list Wednesday. The preseason Players to Watch list is selected by a media panel and consists of five student-athletes each from the Legends Division and Leaders Division.

It's the second straight appearance on the watch list for Borland, who had 103 tackles and 10 tackles for loss last season, one year after finishing with 143 tackles and 19 TFLs.

When it comes to playmakers on either side of the ball, there is nobody better then a healthy Borland. One of three players in UW history to have forced and recovered at least three fumbles in the same season (twice, 2009 and 2012), Borland has forced 13 fumbles in his career and recorded at least seven tackles in 11 of the 12 games he played last year.

A captain last season, Borland will be the focal point of Wisconsin's success, but will be schemed against by opposing offenses.

"We are a mature group and we can understand complex schemes," said Borland, previously. "The new system hasn't been difficult for us. We have a lot of smart guys, as well, so we're handling it well."

Joining Borland on the watch list from the Leaders Division are Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller, the only unanimous selection on the team, cornerback Bradley Roby and linebacker Ryan Shazier and Penn State wide receiver Allen Robinson.

Representing the Legends Division are Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner and offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, Michigan State linebacker Max Bullough, Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez and Northwestern running back Venric Mark.

The Players to Watch list includes the reigning Big Ten Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year and Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year in Miller, Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year in Lewan and Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year in Robinson.

Borland, Lewan, Mark and Roby have each been named All-Americans in past seasons. Four Legends Division players have earned All-Big Ten honors, including first-team accolades for Bullough, Lewan and Martinez and second-team laurels for Mark. All five Leaders Division honorees were first-team All-Big Ten selections last season.
