For as long as he's been with the Arizona Cardinals, WR Larry Fitzgerald has been the face of the franchise. While the business aspect of the NFL usually ends poorly with sometimes messy breakouts, the relationship between Arizona and Fitzgerald is clearly the exception.
Reports surfaced today that Fitzgerald has agreed to a new two-year contract to stay with the Cardinals. Many pundits believed Fitzgerald to be headed elsewhere as his 2015 cap number was scheduled to be $23.6M, but the move could keep in Arizona for the duration of his career.
Details of the contract have yet to be released but Fitzgerald will make $22 million guaranteed over the course of the new deal.
Chalk this up as a win for both Arizona and Fitzgerald.
