The Arizona Cardinals have signed QB Chandler Harnish to a one-year contract.
Harnish, who hasn’t played a regular-season NFL game, most recently was on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad in 2014 after spending the previous two years with the Indianapolis Colts.
Harnish is a dual-threat quarterback in a similar mold as fellow Cardinals backup Drew Stanton. It’s unknown, however, what Harnish’s long-term prognosis is as Arizona already has three quarterbacks locked on the roster – Stanton, Logan Thomas and Carson Palmer.
In all likelihood, the only way Harnish would become relevant is if Palmer’s rehab takes a turn for the worse but as of now that progression appears to be on schedule.
